Early english universal equinoctial sundial, unsigned, diameter of 116 mm (4,6").

Made for north and south hemispheres. Equinox at 10th of March, indicating this ring dial uses the Julian Calendar and is therefore pre 1752. In England the Gregorian Calendar was adopted as late as 1752, the difference was at that moment 11 days.

Backside has a quadrant for measuring the sun's altitude.
